23 May 2008it's been more than a week since your nyai and yai's gone off to perform their umrah so for one whole week ibu and ayah had to play nanny. :) on sunday, the both of us and a bunch of our friends from sept07 went for the kindermusik trial. ![]() that's you and ian carried by auntie billa, who helped ibu with carrying you for a bit while i fished the (@^#!(! buzz out of the cab-boot. ![]() (l-r)jordan, kelly, d & ian after the uneventful trial class, we both did a spot of shopping at forum while waiting for ayah. waited for quite a bit, so we used the Mommy's Room as our secret hideout, heh heh. we slept over at your atok's place that night, and the next morning i had to tear myself away from you. i kept telling myself, i'll see you in less than four hours' time... guess I'm the one suffering from separation anxiety instead of you eh? :) i prepared a list of things ayah needed to pack for the day, and a bit of this and that. and oh, a PLEASE DO NOT SPEED warning at the end of the printout. why? coz on this day, ayah did something he has never ever done before. he drove from woodlands to my office building........... with you in the carseat! i must say he passed with flying colors! he dropped you off and after visiting my colleagues for a bit, off we went to en en's pad at redhill! only then did ibu realise your ayah has forgotten to pack your lunch, urgh! ![]() en en, d & zac at the far back ![]() on tuesday, after fetching you from atok's house we stomped home and i prepared the stuff for pizza, by special request from your bibik i'in. HOWEVER, none of your bibiks came home for dinner so NO pizzas were made. fine, i said. give them chance. but ayah said it was one of the best pizzas he's ever tasted :) on wednesday i decided to take the whole day off, and WALLA! finally i can proudly stand up to the world and annouce that i have done the 'Poop While Holding Your Baby In Your Lap' deed! coz even though i pooped with the toilet door opened and you right in front of the door in your exersaucer, you wailed out for the residents of istanbul to hear! so i hauled you off your toy and placed you on my lap while i pushed with all my might. when it was time for me to cebok, i held you around my right arm, i turned behind for the hose and let my right hand grip the head. i turned on the hose with my left, aimed superbly wrong and drenched the both of us in water! it was really a hilarious sight, if only somebody could have recorded our antics :) ![]() lounging with ibu at the living room on your bumpermat.. ibu cooked again this day and AGAIN your bibiks came home late. by 9 they were not home yet so i called their mobiles and screamed for the residents of turkey to hear! once they got home, they showered and both went straight to bed! again i screamed out loud at them coz it was bloody rude of them to ignore what i painstakenly cooked! top this off with an ability to make a chocolate sponge cake siap dengan chocolate frosting and roasted almonds eh. but of course... UNAPPRECIATED!! now i know how my mom feels when we come home late and dont eat dinner :( on thursday you rode in the car again with ayah, who has planned a whole day out! though at first we had to wait for ayah to finish meeting a client at icon. we lounged at the nice huge sofa at the lobby where you chatted up a guy who was on his lunchbreak :) ![]() gelare while waiting for ayah's client to arrive ![]() flasher at icon's lobby! you were relegated to the back seat and it felt funny at first not having you in my arms while in the car, but you seemed fine though you love to tilt your head to the side to gaze at the trees whizzing by. ![]() roadtripper ayah bought me a lightweight stroller from graco so ibu can now happily bring you out without needing to think twice about escalators or hauling the )@#&)@! buzz out of the cab-boot, superyeay!! ouh, we managed seoul garden with a demanding 8mth old baby after the stroller purchase! then off to the toy fair at the basement where ayah got you an FP activity table :) on friday ayah drove you to my office building again and dropped us off at the singapore expo as we're to meet mama justme and sarah for the motherhood fair! we had a great time with sarah and her mummy and ibu was really thankful for the lightweight stroller :) and get this, i even took the escalator.... and the mrt with you!! wowoweeewah!! ![]() sarah and dahlia after milk and lunch ![]() now it's my turn to have lunch, you sit and watch k ![]() twas a fun fun day! can you believe that i managed to lug one diaper bag, one huge shopping bag, one stroller and one baby up three fleets of stairs?? walla! on saturday since ibu's nyai and yai will be sleeping over i decided to drag bibik fidzah and you to amkhub to get some fish to make a sweet&sour dish. so we supermarketed and went home to fry the fish... which apparently is the WRONG fish lar! we bought ikan kekek instead of ikan bawal, sheesh. after a whole day of kecohchachahemoh, we lepaked in front of the tv. ![]() your latest stunt, the 'AHHH-DIA-NAK-ADIK' pose, hrmph! ![]() the pinhole-by-fisher-price series today your mak nyai came by to visit, with your wak chomel. and tomorrow, ibu's ma and pa will be back. we videocalled them every single day, remember? hehe. we had fun the whole week sayang, i'll gladly do it again with you! Labels: 6-9mths, babyfriends, la familia, theBoy d's been punk'D by auntiemo! Labels: 6-9mths, baby d, my girls, videokilledtheradiostar chomp chomp after searching high and low for teething biscuits with no added salt, sugar or preservaties, i finally got them from vitakids at vivo. got these two first, and tried both of them out with d last night.
20 May 2008u know how d loves to put EVERYTHING into her mouth, toys, our hair, the tv remote, handphoes etc etc. so there i was thinking wow finally something i approve her of to put in her mouth! i pass one rice cake to her, she frowned a bit (prolly coz of the texture), and passed it from her left hand to her right hand. for 1 full minute. shirah and i were wondering when she'll put the thing in her mouth nih?! when she finally did, we gasped, clapped happily and waaaaaaah-ed at her. and then i realised, mg she's gonna put the thing in her mouth! will she choke? shd i take it out? shd i break it into small bits and then feed her? but that would mean she's not self-feeding, right?! after chomping a bit, she had a bit of soggy rice cake in her mouth, and wanted to put it some more, so i pulled her hand out. she must be thinking "eh this crazy woman, she want me to eat anot?!" -_- i realise my paranoia will never stop. anyways we tried the carrot sticks next and i have a feeling she prefers that one :) so cute lah the way she chomps. i say chomp coz she's still as bogay as a newborn. it's okay baby, take your time. no pressure :) this saturday, we gymboree! ![]() ![]() d this morning chomping on another carrot stick pre-mandi //addendum some people have been asking me where to get the snacks, so here's the address details :) VitaKids @ VivoCity - 6376 9378 1 HarbourFront Walk #02-72 VivoCity Singapore 098585 Labels: 6-9mths, baby d, babymakan she turns yeight! i long for long-er weekends please. they should have like 4 days of vesak day or something la seriously.
15 May 2008we lounged at home on saturday morning, the boy left for his shoot at noon and we rolled in and out of bed. i started streaming friends when i was on maternity leave, and finished off the last episode of season 10 with d last saturday. took a nice 4 hr nap with her on our bed, woke up with a jolt at 6 and immediately roused her from sleep and got ready to leave for Pameran. spent about an hour at Pameran chingchong a bit, and then to wati & meraj's chalet at changi cottage, where while crawling on the wooden floor upstairs, she rolled to her side and konked her head for a bit. ![]() sunday morning woke up to news that mummy is warded for a blood clot on her right leg. the boy left for his shoot again at noon and as soon as d woke up from her nap and lunched, i hauled her in the bjorn, met lipglossy and sarah @ yishun mrt and led ourselves to marina sq. main aim was to test drive a lightweight stroller that i can fold and open with one hand. and that's the combi well comfort. the damage? $450. the boy will kill me la. hate late lunch/early dinner at secret recipe, walked around a bit, mimi showed me the way to hip carry using the hotsling (i still fail, i need a bigger size!!) and then the boy picked us up and headed to the hospital to visit mummy. met up with The Noons there and then supper at bedok corner. damnit i'm craving for a good oyster ommelette now :( monday morning after her first feed i brought her out for a nice sunny walk and checked out the temporary cold storage tentage in front of y10, and it sucked. only managed to get pumpkin and sweet potato for d's consumption. thought of heading to k.palace but looking at the time it was only 9.30am. took a cab back to our place, YES cab coz it was so freaking hot. got back, fed her breakfast and as she just plonked her head for her nap i received smses about a last minute gathering at one of the sept07 mummies' place! So while most of the others were already making their way to blue's place, I was waiting eagerly for d to wake up from her nap. at 12.30 i realised if i ever wanted to make it to blue's place i needed to make some noise so she'll wake up heh. and so i did, we got ready as fast as we could and zoomed off to bishan. ![]() these are from darmae :) ![]() ![]() ![]() the girls, minus shy Yan. d was busy clapping. ![]() the boys with half a zac who was sleeping on his dad's lap twas nice meeting up with these ladies who i've been talking online with for a year plus, at least. the babies got along very well! we should have another meetup soon :) left for nurul's at 3ish, nurul made maggi goreng, huda the VERY capable ANAK DARA made crabstick and cheese wantan and fruit salad and me, brownies with chocolate ganache. after the feast we sprawled on the floor with d, the weather was just too hot to handle lah! drilled huda 'da princess' a bit heh heh. happy 8th month, my darling. i love it when you clap on cue, or when you see us clapping. 8mth old and clapping, masyaAllah! last night i lay beside you and watched you sleep with your pursed lips like your ayah, your eyes half closed even though you're deep in sleep, just like me. i ruffle your sweaty head of curls and place my finger in your hand and realised the three days spent with you were priceless. i wanna do it all over again :) Labels: 6-9mths, baby d, babyfriends, milestones, mommyzine eh eh eh 13 May 2008 mealtimes I'm running out of ideas on what to feed D already..

d has been doing these for a few months. - opening and closing of fingers when we sing twinkle-twinkle little stars - same opening and closing of fingers when we sing malay nursery 'cekur genggamit' - twists her wrists (like a 'finished/no more' action) when we sing malay nursery 'neng nang neng pong' - turns to look at her ayah when asked where's ayah - takes a peep when we play peekaboo with her - acknowledges the word 'mimik' (home word for milk) when she's thirsty and we ask her 'd nak mimik?' she'll cry or goes 'mimimimi' heh Labels: 6-9mths, baby d, milestones, mommyzine stand by me ![]() ![]() pa made d stand for about 2mins a few nights ago against the wall. she made the eh-eh-eh sound and spread her arms against the wall to balance a bit. my whole family were holding our breath at any movement she made heh. it probably was the longest 2mins of her life :P I hate it when random jacks and jills label d as naughty. If it's strangers calling her a naughty baby, I'll just say flatly "Maybe she doesnt like your face." -_- But but but, I have this evil sense of satisfaction when people wanna carry her and she cries or reaches her arm back out for me. A 'sick' kind of syiok feeling? Comprende? Hehe. in other news, i had the juiciest unagi sushi last night from Giant Tampines. yummeh. Labels: 6-9mths, baby d, chowtalk, mommyzine clap your hands! d's not sleeping well tonight. the fever she got on sunday is gone, highest was thismorning at 38.4. i left for work with the heaviest heart, felt like shit and wished i could stay with her. but fever's gone now. it's the nose that's acting up at this moment. she's been whining and whimpering in her sleep, wants to be carried and lulled to sleep, give and take 10mins after you settle her in the cot she'll stir again to cry and asked to be carried. and even though you know it's just a runny nose you can't help but feel like shit (again) when you see your baby helplessly trying to get comfy with the hingus meleleh and all.
05 May 2008-_- work's a rotten tomato, that's an entry for another day. runny nose aside, this weekend she made me proud by clapping her hands on cue when i belt out If You're Happy And You Know It Clap Your Hands!! so her clap doesnt really generate a piak!piak! sound effect, but the fact that she puts both palms together to do the clapping action means.. she gets what i mean!! *beams happily* Labels: 6-9mths, baby d, milestones, mommyzine, siquebaby kissy wissy 28 April 2008 naked clip abang ujay, the boys' from themephoto's reason to smile at work, got married over the weekend. bless him, can't wait to hear the pitter-patter of the little peoples soon, let's gone! hehe.
24 April 2008sunday we made a pitstop at wak yah's new place. the usual kecoh chachahemoh of my aunties, it turned into a makcik² hearquarter with the super powers of all the makciks combined, my uncles playing football at the field in front and my nyai, my sweet nyai who sulked over the fact that we have not visited her for a long time. "mak, my grandmother marah i you know!" i sulked to my mom when she came with abah. "padan muka! tu lah, mak cakap no jalan, now your grandmother dah marah, very good!" >_< i should treasure my nyai more. we excused ourselves with the sister in tow for a spot of shopping at vivo. the agenda was a purple dress for d, girlie maryjanes for d and shoes for myself. omg it's so difficult to find a purple dress for a 7mth old, can?! we saw one, by Carter's which was !@)#&!)#!! 69.90! crazy nia. settled with a fox top instead. i say top coz i bought the 12-18mth size so it'll look like a dress, ok. no shoes for her, no shoes for me. chilax with faiz (and his new 800bucks phone!!) and sheila at pac coffee, fed baby d her dinner and she got a new clothe book from sheila. the aftermath of a semisolid feed would always follow on with a clothe-change so i took off her tshirt and then she decided she'd like to go half-naked instead. -_- ![]() ![]() did you see that? I MANAGED TO CLIP HER HAIR!!! so happy i almost cried! felt like i won first prize for topping the class in pri 1 heh heh Labels: 6-9mths, baby d, mommyzine milestones.. 22 April 2008 romos, kernyam, gigit! back in the days when she was still using pampers size NB, a diaperchange would be easypeasy. peel off stickers on both sides, open flap, spray-spray, wipe down, release, roll and fold, place fresh diaper on her butt, lift flap and put stickers on.
21 April 2008now it's the same, only with bouts of an active 7mth old twisting, turning, gyrating, pushing her legs and butts up which will result to her moving further away from me, me chanting "NO DAHLIA cannot!", "DAHLIA, concentrate!", "Dahlia, please!!!" i think it's some sort of exercise regime. in the end i'll be sweating buckets. and that's just a diaperchange! over the weekend we met up with (or glanced, i'd say) theDoubleAs and their miniZ at Badoque. it was supposed to be more of a let's catch up thing, coz it really has been a while since we all had a proper sitdown dinner and yak. beb, when was the last time we heard our boys compare their crap, kan? so anyways, a let's catch up thing became a i need to catch and watch zain thing coz the little tyke's a-walkin all over the place now! seems like a good outlet to lose weight tau, and you have, beb! i cant say i cant wait to be catching and running after baby d but ho-boy do i need that losing weight push, heh! point is, even now baby d's been showing her own tantrums and her special ways of seeking attention. when she does her campak badan routine, i personally like to pin her down and give her lipsmacking licks and kisses, till her face turns red and she sweats like her ayah :) octopussy this post is not intended to brag about my multitasking, but more of a post to look back at when i'm old, not so mobile.. i wanna remember that i used to be able to do the following last saturday
1. milkfeed, bathe, entertain, play, semi-solidfeed, entertain, put to sleep a super-energetic 7mth old baby 2. do the laundry 3. sterilize for the day 4. pack bag for grocery day out 5. will theboy to WAKE up WAKE up WHY CAN'T YOU WAKE UP THE FIRST TIME I WAKE YOU UP?!!!! for the -nth time 6. milkfeed baby 7. WAKE UP LAAAA theBoy!!! 8. hang laundry to dry 9. get ready appliances and utensils to make puree after grocery shopping 10. clean up room once theboy hits the loo 11. theboy drops me and baby for grocery shopping at amkhub with dearest sister in tow while he zooms off for a shoot 12. lunch 13. realised shitSHUCKS i forgot to pack baby's lunch! a milkfeed should suffice 14. put baby to sleep while attacking fish&co's calamari 15. home again, trying my darnest to put baby to sleep so i can start pureeing 16. fails miserably so i put her in the exersaucer and she entertains herself while her ibu turns into a mean-pureeing-machine 17. gets bits of pumpkin, apples, pears and sweet potatoes in her hair/ears/eyes 18. whips up a batch of brownies siap dengan ganache topping for the boy who requested his very free wife (or so he thinks?!) bake for him 19. blend and freeze in motion 20. too early for dinner, too late for lunch, so milkfeed again 21. FINALLY she sleeps 22. collapses into bed with baby and jets off to dreamland for 3 super syiok hours 23. wakes up to a hand schlapping my face and grabbing my hair 24. mandi time for ibu and baby! 25. semisolid dinner of pears, apples and brown rice.. she loves! 26. plays with baby 27. plays with baby while folding the laundry 28. plays with baby while watching SATC (i know.. bad mummy, but i really do cover her eyes when the sex scenes are showing, pwomise!) 29. last milkfeed 30. baby d sleeps, her zombiefied ibu follows suit Labels: 6-9mths, baby d, babymakan, mommyzine, plans
